Well i've got a month left of driving my WH Statesman before i sell to a mate at work. In the meantime i have a CL chrysler panel van for a project car and there is a fair bit of work for it to get on the road. So in till its finished i need a daily driver with the aim of making faster afterwards.
Im am contemplating an ef or an el variety falcon. A few questions i have are - I will be changing a diff to a 3.9 down the track. In the inline 6 modification guide i quote TROYMAN "the nissan pintara (the one that looks like a skyline) has 3.89 ratio and will fit into falcon as they are the same series borg warner diff..." Is this true? - Other than the xr6 what else came out with an lsd? - I will be camming the car with perhaps a bit of head work and down the track a blower on the side I might try and adapt an eaton unit. Im just looking to see what an ideal base car would be. ( but i dont want an xr6 as i had an ef xr8 and i just dont like em)

Shoulnt you post this in the drivetrain workshop?
To answer the question, yes the R31 skylines and pintaras use borg warner diffs. Depending on what model falcon you have, they will either drop right in or require extra shimming on the pinion. Have a chat to your local diff shop. Anything optioned with a LSD would come with an LSD (you hope at least).
