EF won't start, what else can I check?

The 'E' and 'F' are revision numbers. They will not affect the car driving/starting/etc.

You now know that the problem is not in the ECU. Must therefore be wiring or sensor related.

Could be the ECU is not getting power. I would also check the connector on the coil pack. 3 are triggers one is a 12V feed. Ignition on, test the front pin (number 4) which should be 12V.

this may sound strange but have you checked the modual on the side of the dizzy this can cause those symptoms

It is an EF, it does not have a dizzy, it has a coilpack

Problem still could be ECU as it sounds like the replacement one is from another car NOT new :roll: :D

Agree, could be, but I assumed that it would have been pulled from a WORKING car.

But you know what they say about making assumptions......

It was confirmed today that my new ECU works, my car did start once today, but I am still having the same problem all other times with the car not fireing. I have checked every thing, even replaced the ECU and the car still does not work????
