Thanks guys...I was worried that might be the case. 66 coupe, i'd be keen to hear how your anti limp home mode device goes.
So just say I did swap out the BTR for an AODE or a 47R0W, would I need swap to a Mustang EEC with auto calibration to suit? |

Yes you'd need a '94-'95 5.0 Auto EEC or you could retain your EEC and use a Baumann TCS. Personally I'd use the EEC and be able to dial the whole lot in with TwEECer...less wiring and easier control with one program on the laptop. For the wiring you'd just rob some wires out of a 4.0 EEC harness with integrated trans control and plug em into the stock 5.0 harness.
Chooka, Is the 3.45 the original ratio of the car? Pete. |

So... with mild mods, 3.27s and a 2500 stall, would it trip limp home? And what kind of improvement would that size stall equate to over the quarter compared to stock?

Limp mode - It really depends on how much torque the engines producing and the way the converter is built, if the converters too loose, then it most likely will limp. There is a way around this though.... A good histall will give you a better launch and decrease the 60ft times. A s**t converter will just make it sloppy to drive. |
