Ok my update is i now have a billet custom grind turbo cam from surecam and valve springs to suit, my question is can i use a Au steel Head gasket either side of a acl copper head gasket to lower compression?

Oh yeah i blew my t5 up after beating a 380hp r33 skyline and i now have a g-force upgraded gearbox coming over from the usa with a strengthened t5 housing.

good to see another turbo 4l with a surecam grind bumpstick... what are the specs?? what did you ask for out of the cam???

i used au steel gaskets either side of a steel head shim from permaseal....

the old blown T5 trick... LOL, i have ordered a R154, have my custom clutch, and have done some measuring up... looks like it will be a success.

you will need to have a custom clutch made aswell wont you, from all the research i did into the g-force setup, i beleive they have a fine spline input shaft, unless you had it supplied with a a*** spline?????

I gave them all the specs for my tf including my input shaft so my clutch will fit fine, i just wanted full power to 6000rpm

what are the specs on your cam papers??? will be interesting to see if its close to mine... and dont worry, if it is, you will have full power well past 6000rpm. you will have to grind away some of your rocker arms if it is the same size

will be interesting to see how that t5 holds up when you start pumping some real power/torque through it, like mid 300s which you are aiming for as a minimum

was it a tough discision to go T5?? i just couldnt trust the T5 to be upto the task, although you are getting the upgraded case. I saw the size of the gears from the R154 and i just had to use it...

how much did your particular box cost ya all up??

i need to do a similar thing to my XF to drop the current 10:1 compression for boost. i was thinking of using a head gasket shim and putting a standard head gasket either side of it rather than just using double gaskets. would this work?

make chambers bigger, fit dished pistons... the comp drop you will need to calculate. id say probably .8-1 comp drop
