You shouldn't blame the car if you are not up to the job in the first place.

I think it might have something to do with it not sliding on easily and then using a sledge hammer to help ease it on... lol... |

it had a few cracks on the inside,,when we did it up one just cracked right through, and no i don't use hammers to put things together.
unless its needed.

unless its needed. Neither do I, but in the last 2 days, I have heard of guys using hammers to do the work of a Ford special tool. And a roll of Gaffa tape to fix an idler pulley. Who says you cant fix Falcons with a hammer and tape. I realise its a bit late not, but going by this theory, you could have used Gaffa tape to fix the cracks in the timing case, then hammer the bastard back on. |

This is what happens when you overtighten the bolts. Last edited by 66 coupe on Mon Mar 05, 2007 5:49 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

it cracked on the middle one on the tentioner side, from front to back, but there were long ones on the inside right where it bends near the timing marks,oh well, once it fixed i wont touch that part of it again, once bitten.

For the cost of getting it fixed, you probably bought another car
