I've read up on the twEECer a bit, but I was wondering if some people could answer a few more Q's I have.

How much can I get one for + install?
Where?

Will a TwEECer be able to eliminate the 180kph cut-off speed?
Will it be suitable for now (minor mods.. 4.11's, shift kit, possibly MAF and TB), and later down the track (as far as intercooled supercharger)?
Will the twEECer have any positive effect on livening up an auto? - ie; shift points, etc.
Who can tune them in melbourne, is it expensive to 'tweece' (har har) a few things here and there to iron out teething problems or change tiny things?

Is it worth buying now for an EL 5ltr with only extractors, exhaust, GT snorkel, 4.11's - or should I wait until i've doing some internal mods
(I figure I could buy it now if it gives me a bit more poke, considering i can adjust it later on for my internal mods.)

Cheers!

Also.. whats a flash tune?
and what other chips are out there for my EL 5ltr.

Just trying to figure out the best way to go.

Money is an issue, so if you have the knowlegde, please add a ballpark figure for any ideas you're suggesting

You should budget around the $1000 mark,

Call Peter on 0419 922 959, or email him pie<at>icenet.com.au or look for pm him XR9UTE.

Be aware that the twEECer isn't compatible with all 5.0 EECs straight away. Check that the code has been cracked (or whatever has to be done) for your pooter before purchase so that if it hasn't, it can be done before you install it and get it on the dyno where all the excitement that will have been building up comes crashing down when it's discovered the twEECer isn't doing crap for your car. :P

Yep, pull your kickpanel off, and get the 4 digit "catchcode" off the ECU.
PM that too Pete, "XR9UTE" and he'll let you know if it's got support.
You won't be able to change transmission parameters, the Australian auto 5Ls have a seperate transmission control computer.
Not sure who can/would be willing to tune them in melbourne, if you find someone let me know, I'm heading down the twEECer path as well.
A 'flash tune' is usually said in reference to the CAPA eliminator switch aka "edit".
It's not actually a 'flash tune' in the BA sense, in that the factory tune stays on the computer and isn't actually changed, its a 'chip' of sorts that is plugged into the ECU.
It and twEECer are very very similar ;)
Main benefit of the twEECer over the other two is that the software is available to the end user for a reasonable price (), so you can tune it yourself if you are that way inclined.

I was under the impression you can download it for free. Is this not the case?

TwEECer yeah, thats what the "" was for.
Free compared to thousands for a dealer pack, which I think is only available with 10 Eliminator Switch Chips, is reasonable :P

TwEECer for EL-EL is $895.
You install it yourself.
You can change or turn off the speed limiter.
It will allow recal for any mods you have at any time.
Anyone with experience with Ford tuning should be able to tune it and will happen faster because the unit does not have to be unplugged to make changes....just hit enter and the changes to the cal happen straight away.
Good gains have been made with near stock 5.0's.
Not all EEC's have support as yet so let me know your catch code.
You can add all those things now although 4.11's are a waste of time with such a mild engine.
The software is free from tweecer.com but the EF-EL definition is not. However, when you buy a TwEECer from me you get the EF-EL definition file with it.

Cheers,
Pete.
