Awe heck, topic dredging again, and this one looks like an interesting Mod.

As per the eBay lookup suggestion, I found what might be the same 4-window unit for $30 plus shipping, still available, and it has a rain-detect mode.

This should be driven easily by the J5/2 pin on the BA BEM which appears to be a high-current drive run to each door OR from the J2/24 pin which only unlocks the drivers door. I have my key set to unlock the drivers door on press one, and the rest on press 2 - but for locking I don't think it makes a difference.

I was planning on replacing my door harnesses at some point to add the Courtesy Lights to the doors (amongst other things - the other being to add Auto Climate Control which needs a different passenger door loom) so I might give this a go and write it up for the BA.

Might be quite a few months away though....
