Hi, I was wondering if anyone has a car with option 77 or knows what it is? I have a JGS and when I rang Ford to get the options verified, they told me the option codes and what they were. They told me it had optin 77 but didn't know what it was. Any help much appreciated.

Does this XB have 1/4 glass's??? or full window glass for the front doors????
Is it a V8 or 6 cyl???? Does it have 4 wheel disc brakes??? Does it have a 9" diff (V8)??? Does it have dual exhausts (V8)???? Does it have factory green tinted glass, and A/C.????? These are only a few Q's as to find out what it was.

Sorry, I should have explained it better. By JGS I mean John Goss Special. Therefore it is a coupe. Mine is the green and white. All John Goss Specials were 302 V8. Mine is auto. It has 4 wheel disk brakes.
Option are 03 seat belts. 32 sports console 39 carpet 48 rally pack with tape stripes 68 sports handling suspension 87 tinted glass 77 ???????? This is the option I am looking for |

Wouldnt option 77 stand for the special paint work on it?
Please post some pics of the car as I have not seen one off these for near on 30 years, one my dad's uncles had a John Goss Special and the other had the Moffat one. I remember as a little tacker thinking the blue ones were better than the green ones lol, little did i realize back then, what and why the green ones were brought out for and what it meant to fraud at the time. |

The paint code of the green ones is Q and the blue ones is S. This is on the compliance plate. It is different from the options. The car does not look like a John Goss Special at the moment as a previous owner painted the whole car white and put an XC GS front on it.

I've been doing a search and Google comes up with a John Goss website (realted to the car) but I can't get the damn link to work
Are you going to respray it the original colours?

Bit more searching (was always a bit of a fan of these cars ). Is it possible that option 77 was what they called a "horn car"? These were put together by a fella called Max Mcleod. He added things like spoilers, sunroofs and standout side stripes etc. Other Ford dealers then copied the outcome. Not sure if it was considered an option or not tho....

I thought about the Mcleod Ford thing, but it turns out my car was sold new by Dominelli Ford in Sydney. They couldn't helpme as their records don't go back that far.
I can't get the John Goss Special website to work either. I will give the registery one a go though. Thanks for that. I will be putting it back to original. I am restoring an XB GT coupe at the moment and I want to finish that one first. Thanks for all the info so far. |

Just spoke to some boys from The Aust GT Club, and they reckon it is for XB GT side scoops, you know the fake brake duct things on the side.

That sounds feasible, But the guy from Ford Customer Care said it wasn't a Ford factory option and he didn't know what it was. It does have those scoops though.
