The end product does look nice, and LARGE. All good things. I had imagined it would be similar size to the F6 CAI, is seems that the F6 CAI is only 2/3 the size.

The main benefits I can see would be that as you say, all air is from behind the headlight. Also, by having the one entry point, I would figure the air pressures should be more constant, rather than having to battle varying pressures from two entries.

I may have to go and invest in the APS system purely so I can gauge the differences.

Job well done! maybe it's time for a dyno? (I know my car wants to give me some figures)

Thats what I thought at first that it would be a metal version of the F6 CAI and I was only gonna check it out but when I actually examined it up close, it was pretty chunk, and weighty too.

I think I'll have to wait a little before I dyno this thing, as I'm interested to know what it actually did for me since this is the only mod I've done to it ... but then again, I haven't dynod it without the mod so i cannot be certain about the gain. The place I looked at (and bought the intake from) charges around $125 for dyno and having no idea how much a dyno costs, this seemed pretty steep... for now anyway.

But yea I'll , dyno this eventually. Also driving to Sydney next week so I wanna know what it does to my highway consumption

Yea, could have done that and probably woulda been cheaper, but I'd prefer to keep my bay looking as close to stock as I can.
Besides, I still want to be able to get to my air filter
