Gday fellas,

Thinking of converting me ed xr6 to a manual due to the old auto starting to die...i have been told that ill will have to change

tailshaft
flywheel
ecu
pedal box naturaly
shifter surround
balance???i dont know how true that is?

hey mate i just did this to my ED XR6

Tailshaft- No you can use the same one that was in it with the auto

Flywheel- Yes you will need a flywheel as autos only have a flex plate which is different to a flywheel

ECU- Yes and No, you can trick the auto computer, im not sure where it is but i think it is one of the stickies maybe in the 6cylinder workshop

Pedal Box- Again Yes and No, to swap pedal boxs over you will need to pull the dash out which is just annoying but you can get the clutch pedal that will fit onto the side of the auto pedal box, again try the same stickie as the one above its about the manual convertion

Shifter Surround- Yes unless you want to try and mod ur auto one

And i dont understand what you mean by a balance, if you are talking about the tailshaft all you need to do is mark where it is attacted to the diff with white out
