I have an ED V8 falcon, is it possible to put a whole rear end disc brake diff set up out of an XF fairmont 1985/86 into it?

Why would you???? the ratio would be 2.77:1. The ECU wouldn't like it for gear changes, if auto....and the pinion yoke on the XF is old school, and the ED has a flange. The rear disc's are different on XF, as are the calipers, and the XF would have lighter axles, 25 spline verses 28 spline in the XR8 unit.
