Having trouble deciding which springs to get for my EL XR8. I will be getting bilstein short shocks, whiteline swaybars and nolothane bushes. I was getting King Spring Superlows but have since been talked into pedders. I am trying to find out what actual part number pedders springs people have used and what height from the bottom of the rim to the guard they leave the car sitting at. The lowest off the shelf springs that they seem to have are front 590mm and rear 570mm with 17 inch rims. My car is sitting at around 590 front and rear at the moment on standard springs so I want about an inch lower then that.

If you have pedders springs fitted could you please post up the part nos and heights?

Thanks.

Pictures in gallery, Front part no: 2261, rear part no: 2280
Standard shocks fitted, thats the lowest spring for the front with pedders to go any lower in the front you need to get their front shocks with lowered spring seat.

So did they lower the ride height from the standard XR height? Bit hard to tell from the pics but it looks like it is sitting about the same as mine is now.

Sorry rear part no is: 2180 not 2280. Car sits a tad lower than standard, but prob not much. Have just fitted Kings super lows and I'm much happier, pedders stuffed me round a bit.

Thanks for that mate. When you say you are heaps happier with the superlows do you mean you are happier as they are lower then the pedders? Any chance you could measure the height from the centre of your wheel to the guard on the front and rear for me? Or from the bottom of your mag to the guard and let me know what size mag you have?

Cheers.

Hey mate, When I said happier I meant, happier with the height.

Height with kings SL's: LHF: 575mm (edge of rim to guard w/235/45/17's)
LHR: 572mm " "

Height of car with pedders in pictures was: 585mm front & 595mm rear.

Hope that helps mate.

Thanks for that mate! You're a legend. I think I will stick with the King Springs Superlows as they are about the look that I want. It should just be over the legal limit here in SA. My only problem is my sub box which will probably make the rear go under the limit. You don't happen to have subs in your car do you? I hate Transport SA.

thanks for your help mate. As of getting home from work today and looking at my car and measuring and s**t I think I will now order a set of whiteline flatout springs (10mm higher then the kings) but keep the superlows as well incase it is not low enough for me. Jesus I am so undecided.

I had/have whiteline "flatout" springs in my ED.
I still have the fronts in, sits nice, but the back sat a bit high, so I put lovells ultralows in the rear.
Sits even, would like the a*** a bit lower but meh.
I cant be f**k pulling them out again
You'll be stoked with them and the bilstien shocks i reckon, good s**t!

If the back sits a bit higher that would probably suit me anyway as I have 2 12 inch subs in a box in the boot so it may even bring it down a bit anyway. Still a couple of weeks to wait till it is done but I am kinda over worrying about which springs to get so Whiteline it is. Hopefully it is all good.
