My mate recently pruchased a daewoo lanos, and more recently has purchased a new headunit.

we were also looking at getting some new speakers for the back (orignials split)

To get to the rear speakers, we had to pull out the C-pillar trim panel, which we did.

in putting it back on though, we have got stuck... the clips that daewoo uses are s**t.

does anyone have any hints on how to clip the panel back in? looks even worse than normal (:P) with the panel hanging off.

the clips are little black plastic tabs which are in the body, and the panel slides over them. but the slides are in all different direction. and the panel is to firm to bend it enough to get back in.

do we pull the black bits out? they didnt want to come out?


sorry bout long post, but i feel bad, cause i tore it out expecting it to be like a ford with the christmas tree clips.

anyone know what to do? or where to look?

they look liek the one that hold the EF rear c pillar interior trim in. when i was puttin mine back in, i just ripped them on, put them on the plastic part, and pushed them back into place, seemed to work, good luck on your adventure, by the way, if this doesnt make sense it is due to intoxication!

thats his punishment for buying a daewoo lol.

and mitch, nah they are different from EF c pillar ones. i have had mine off and they were easy to get back in.

these actually slide over the black bit from the side.

so u cant remove the black peices from the actual body of the car?

Try using needle nose pliers to pull them out.

we were having a bit of greif getting them out, we couldnt even get them to budge. we might try and have another go.

it does seem the logical way to do it though doesnt it.

They do pull out and clip into the slides on the moulding if you break any any auto shop should have them these days.
Note they may off been glued in due to the s**t off it being a GM vechile and the trim rattling off.
They almost look like the old style clips used in fords and holdens door trims.

cool, i'll source myself a set of long nose pliers (my proper tool kit is 400km away!) and we'll try and yank them out.

and wicksy, we were considering blue tack if it came to that! ha ha

they are the same clips that hold the hq era door trims on .. from memory ... arent they held in the back by prongs that need to be squeased together then pulled out .. pulling the same clips out from under the dash in a lanos they are but who knows they prolly cant even make up there mind on what clips to use when they made the car
