Just bought a BA MK II Turbo and it was whining all the time so i took it into Ford and it needed a new box, all under warranty.
Just want to know if it happens alot and if it is something that happens in the future.

My mate is having the same problem at the moment.

With the radiators in the BA XR6T's (and all fords from the 70's), they have a trans cooler in the water cooler. With the XR6t's the oil is warmer and more goes through the thing a min then a non turbo. So the radiator splits inside and water gets into the trans fluid and vise a versa.

The ford warranty job consists of a new radiator, cooling system flush and a new trans.

My mate got his XR6t from Adtrans used cars and they said they wont replace the trans, ford wont replace the trans, and adtrais use a kia dealer...they too wont replace it so there is a huge s**t at the monet. The trans is being rebuilt at fords expence as of tomorrow.

But the answer to ur problem is the 1st rediators used were s**t and there is water in the trans and they fix it by giving u a better radiator and trans.
