could be many things,
3.45's are common to be a bit noisey. Try new Oil first (140 visco.) If this fails you could be up for new axle bearings. Then maybe carrier bearings and a reset. But if its as bad as your quoting, its prolly f%$ked. take it to supatrik of some other diff place and get them to take it for a spin. they'll know straight away. second hand 3.45:1 LSD diff's are around $650 mark. simular price for a rebuild. Last I was paid for a VS V8 ute for a reco LSD was $400inc. bearings. I bought New gears (3.08 @ $50) got him to make a solid spacer and supply oil all for $550 unfitted.

Ben Wouldnt be uni joints as there hasnt been a problem with a driveline vibration, especially if they were worn enough to clunk. Have the upper and lower trailing arm bushes been checked for wear? Another thing could be the extension housing bush on the gearbox but if worn it causes a small driveline vibration. |
