How the hell do i get these side moulds off my fairlane? :?

If this is a completely obvious answer im going to punch myself right in the face..

how did that punch go dude cause you could use a hair dyer to soften up the glue or go in hard with a flat screwdriver and tear em off.

I don't know if this will work but heating the mould up and using fishing line between the body and the mould as a saw to break the bond. If this works there will be less stress on the panels than prying at it.

No self punching pics, was hard enough to take that pic with my dodgy camera (yay for 2.1 megapixel glory) .. the battery cover is broken i had to hold the batteries in myself lol

i use a razor blade , the type that you snap of and it slide back into its self , btw are you planning on re-use'n the moulds cause if you take them off and the mould bends the chrome is wrecked then . unless your putting new moulds on then if thats the case then use a paint scrapper between the mould and panel ( be gentle here not to scratch paint )
Once the mould has lifted you should be able to grab it with both hands and pull them off .

The chrome is f**k anyway. Was just gonna paint the grey part body colour and the chrome part remove n paint another colour. i dont know yet, will depend on how good/bad it looks without the side mould.

I took mine off the ef and got the suprise of a life time on one side.... Sikaflex used to hold them on.... still has all the black s**t on there... been about 6 months since i took mine off i rekon lol

i was thinkin of doin the same with the moulds on my car .. lucky i stumbled across this post, thanks!

Im thinkin of paintin the grey part black and leaving the chrome part .. what do you guys everyone reakon, will it look ok? ps. my car colour is poly green.

hi mate.just find a corner of the molds and then pill it up and then keep puling and thay would come off.thats what i did on my ea s pac.cheers.stef
