hey guys, i'm in need of a cheap form of increasing the fuel going into my engine. I've been looking at SAFCs because they are cheap and common. At first i wondered why they couldn't be used on a falcon with the stock ECU but 4.9 EF Futura helped me see the light here (http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=740):

Really all it does is modify the aiflow signal the factory computer is seeing. So for any given amount of airflow, the AFC will adjust the reading that EEC sees - by up to 50%. Thus, allowing you to richen/lean fuel ratio out at any given airflow. From what i understand, EEC is very good at learning around these devices. And you will most likely need to have it tuned by a pro. I'm also unsure if a Ford EEC MAP sensor will work with it as i think they use a frequency voltage as opposed to a 0-5V system the AFC is designed for. So either way - make sure you research it well before forking out the $$$ But then i thought, why couldn't i just get a MAP sensor from a jap car (ie. one that suits the SAFC). The MAPs that Falcons come with can't see boost anyway right? Anyone know if this could work? btw, i'm well aware of the huge array of other options out there (MS2, Wolf, Microtech, Chips, etc). I'd like something like that but i can't really afford it atm.

Ford map sensors do see boost, the ECU ignores it though.
Why not use a rising rate reg?

I've got a turbo EB 6cyl which i dyno'd the other day and my AFR is 15:1 with only 6 psi of boost. So i'm gonna get a rising rate fpr but i'm not sure its going to be enough.
i was also thinking of other ways ie. 7th injector setups but it'd be nice to be able to have some form of tuning for the extra injectors i add or possibily even for all my injectors (with out going big money ecu's). I'm just putting ideas out there.

A rising rate will fix your AFR. Short of a proper fuel system and aftermarket ecu its your best bet.
