Hi again all...
maybe a stupid question But I have water drop marks on all my glass apart from the front screen. No matter how hard I wash it they are still there. Ive used different detergents and glass cleaners on the glass, but with no luck. I have been told that Mag Wheel cleaner with acid is the way to go. Spray some on a rag and wipe it all over the glass hard. Dont get any on the paint. Has anyone done this, does it work is there any other effective ways of getting rid of watermarks on the glass. cheers.... and speed safely.

lol, You need to use whats called a Chami Cloth and wipe down all the windows/windscreens after you wash your car.... removes all the water dropplets....
those marks you see are water dropplets that have absorbed dirt that is floating around and then dried and left a mark |

When i wash my car i usally Chami the entire car down..... so that no dropplets leave marks on the paint work either.....
one tip, dont buy a cheap Cloth, go the expensive ones, much better and will last for years if kept moist |

I know there are 2 types of water mark on glass, the ones you can wipe off and the ones that just don't move no matter how hard you try...
For the latter, these are the type that seem to have etched the surface, sometimes ammonia will remove them, sometimes nothing will, give some ammonia a try (get it from a hardware store or in the cleaning isle at woolies, and try not to sniff it) if that won't work I'm out of ideas... Maybe speak to a window tinter, they seem to have some tricks up their sleeves. Cheers.

i used the polish i use for my car on the glass to remove water marks and make them more reflective. i think there is special glass polish you can buy aswell but if you have a fairly mild polish laying around at home that should do the trick. after you remove the marks its a good idea to use some paint sealnt on the windows to stop future marks absorbing in to the glass. the reason the marks stay on paint and glass is cos its poorus like human skin and it absorbs stuff that is left on there to long.

When I spoke to a tinter not long ago he noted I had the same thing and said it was from acid rain or something along those lines and they would need to do an acid wash to remove it.

yeah yeah acid wash...
hence the mag wheel cleaner with acid. might give the amonia a go... how about vinegar?

Diluted ammonia seemed to clear up most of the water spots on my ride. But there is some residual spotting (i think some of the spots are too deeply etched in).
I am looking for a glass polishing product to finish the job..no luck yet. In future I will be chamoising the glass as soon as its washed.

I used a product called Diamond magic got it from a Novus windscreens. Removed all water marks. Not cheap around $80 a bottle.

normal car polish does the trick for me.
