ok so me XR has nearly done 300000k's and me LSD is not an LSD about 50% of the time, so im thinking of giving it a birthday and fitting a clutch kit to the diff, i would rather repair it than replace the diff.. so my question is has anyone done this??? and where and what price would i pay for a LSD clutch kit?...

thanks in advance..

Unless you have a 9", you dont have clutches in the diff....cones are used in E series LSD's

Generally dressing them up, re tensioning and new oils will do the trick. Its pretty rare to totally root them during normal service life

i had the bearing changeed in my diff not to long ago, and now it's seems to spin one wheel alot more, just enough to make the tired sqeel, could the change in oil's free the diff up?? (ie metal in oil, make that big a differnce?)
i didn't do the bearings, and just trying to work out why what was my nice tight diff, is all loose.

If you take the Hemisphere out, Most diff places will 'lap' in the cones for around $100.

Alternativley you could swap Left and Right cones over and install new/tighter springs and wait a while for the cones to 'lap' themselves in.

In my Salisbury I used some small bolts inside the LSD springs and this gave them about 20-30% more preload. worked a treat and locked everytime.
