Hey everyone, in the near future i would like to head down the road of Forced induction for my el xr6, now the thing is i have 12k to spend a mate who is a mechenic, acsess to a mandrel bender and piping and the willingness to get my hands dirty.
I have seen a few xr6t's and they are nice but i have noticed that the supercharger kits that are avalible from CAPA seem some decent bang for buck so hopefully there is a setup out there (weather it be supercharger or turbo) that can give me what i want.

Some Questions: (your help will be greatly appreciated)
1. I need to decide what i want either turbo or supercharger
1(a). What Size turbo/supercharger would suite best
2. I want mostly torque (to show a few SS CommonWhores whats what) but still some top end power (for those highway roll-on's  )
3. I will also be putting the car into burnout comps and some drags so cooling is a must so i have the decision of Air to Air or Air to Water
4.Would a 5 Speed supra box fit or will the standard box hold up with a HD clutch.

**NOTE**: this is including everything Turbo/Supercharger, ECU, Intercooler Ect.

I would hopefully get somewhere around 250kw+

So for that what do you think the best path to head down will be ?

Thanks For You Help[/b]

for turbo ktis:
{DESCRIPTION}
good bang for bucks

after those you just need intercooler piping, aftermarket ecu, bigger fuel pump, and injectors

check out {DESCRIPTION}
the Supra R154 dogbox requires a bit of modication to fit.

a standard T5 will die before 250kw..

A few years ago I would have said go for a turbo and all the blah blah to go with it, 12k is a decent budget and will do it easy... but

Today, with early BA xr6t's going for low 20s why would you bother with an older car?
If you have 12grand now, add that to whatever you can get for your EL and your getting close to enough to afford a BA... and you only need to spend $700 to get it to pull 250rwkws anyway, or a few grand for 300wkws.

One of the best reasons is that its all factory, you wont have to bend over to get an engineers report or panic eveytime to cops go past you

thats pretty much the decission i've come 2.

by the time i want to update my car and if i save all the money i was going to spend on my current cars.
xr6t will prob cost a flat 20 if not less and i dont have to worry about mister plod.

u can get super charger kits that start from 6k i think it is from cappa.

Two ways of looking at it ???
DEPT !! Its around your neck...
Atleast with modded older car, you pay as you go...
I have dept but its now tax deductable....Making money work for me... Bugger working for money..... Cars depreciate, I'm affraid!!...
It's possibly a better option??? Though....
depends how much you can do youreself and learn as you do project....Ether way it costs!!!

Mmmm I thought turboing my AU would be cheap.

Was cheaper than some of the other "drive in drive out" optins and I learnt HEAPS about forced induction, it was also satisfying to have the car engineered and being able to legally punt around in my own turbo car.

I did spend about $7-$8k Just on he turbo side of things.

I got a BAMKII XR6T for $20,750 from Auction.

There are DEFINITELY XR6T's for as little as $15k if you are prepared to look, I know a BF XR6T went through Sydney action with panel damage for less than $16K.

There is an acid rush T that has been on the markey for ages. Its $18,990 and has 170k.

Cheapies are out there.

That said I dont regret building my AU up.
I still have the AU, so I have 2 late model falcon turbo's on LPG. I must be on to a good thing?
