ive posted this before guys ,but i need some advice here.I have a 04 ba 6cy xls manual ute.Ive got 42,000 on it and since about 30,000 the idle has been getting rougher. Its at the point now ,where i can sit at the lights and it trys to stall sometimes and other times is reaonably ok,but not smooth at all.If i put the air-con on its mostly fine.I use premium fuel always.Ford have had it 7 times now and cant find the cause of it.They say theyve checked everything.Computer shows no codes .They r now saying its normal for the manuals to do this because they dont have a torque converter like the autos. On one occasion they reset the tps sensor and it was good for about 50 ks,then went back to misidling, but they say the tps is ok .The customer line guy at ford says an engineer needs to look at it ,but basically i have to put up with it.I cant it s driving me nuts.Any advice or similar probs let me know .Thanks.

Im having the exact same problem - but its getting even worse, when coasting along and putting it in neutral it will sometimes stall!

Ive replaced the throttle body (including TPS), had the tuners check my tune (I have a unichip - which doesnt affect closed loop anyway), cleaned and re-gapped my plugs and checked all my hose clamps are tight.. got no idea where to look next.

Man, sorry to be no help, but I wish Ford would address the bad idle some of our engines get.

replace the fuel filter first, then the injectors.

i'll bet you've run the tank low a fair few times

I said injectors cos we had this BA falcon in the other day. It was running on 5 cylinders. It wasn't electrical misfire.

No power and idle was s**t. we got the injectors serviced and that fixed it. running like dream now.

according to the ford dealer, its had a carbon clean and injector service and the fuel filter was replaced at 30,000ks.It does seem to lack power sometimes, and it feels like its pulling sometimes when u accelerate.

see the problem is ,im still under new car warranty,so id like ford to fix ,so it doesnt cost me anything. But its been in so many times and and its a hassle to keep leaving it there ,organising other transport and r they really doing what they say.I will let my own mechanic look at it ,might be something simple, but i dont want him to run different tests ,if ford have already done them. They tell u that much sh#t ,what do u believe.
