yesterday went for abit of sideways action n yeh all off a sudden my car was revving but wheels werent turning then it started moving again with a horrible grinding noise from the diff.. i think its time for a new 1.. what would u guys recomend i want an LSD but dont really understand the diffgears n stuff so any help would b appreciated i hav a AUIII Futura and how much i am looking at for parts and labour thanks guys

Sounds like the GearBox slipped.
Live = straight shaft with a bump in the middle from wheel to wheel. IRS = independant. (exposed axles and a funky suspension setup)

What sort of car is it for a start? Transmission?

so theres a horrible grinding and no drive???
stick back end on axle stands have someone in the car and put it in drive and try drive it while u stick you head under the car... is tail shaft moving and where is the noise the worst???

the noise has gone away now.. i think wat happen i snapped all the gears n it locked or somthing coz now wen i drive all i can here is like this sound its hard to describe.. um sorta like wen i go over bumps the gears are sitting in the bottom of the cover and bouncing around
