i have an za fairlane with a 302 w 11.1 comp, crane 288 grind hydrolic cam, 289 heads with 190 and 154 valves, performer manifold,holley 600, y extractors , 2500 stall convertor and 293 gears. ive got about 210 rwhp, and shes snappy off the mark in first but not much torque and get up and go after that.
Im doing a respray on the car and am goint to do a rebuild..........been looking on the net a bit and am thinking about stroking to a 347 with aft 165 heads but keeping same cam ,inlet and exhaust. will be changing gears to 3.5 or 3.7 and will run a holley or speed demon 750. i want 300 to 350 rwhp and and a snappy take off. What sort of compression will this motor have with flat top pistons? will this combo give me what i want or do i need to change some components (cam, inlet manifold, extractors). I have found a stroker kit on ebay will it be good enough for what i want and will a 347 last? heres the link for the kit. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-FORD-347-WIN ... dZViewItem what do you think of the pro comp multi spark ignition and the cheap roller rockers these guys are selling.

What cc are the chambers ??
What deck height are the pistons??? For GOOD throttle responce I like a well set up 650cfm..

i will probably go with the 58cc aft 165 heads...........not sure on the piston to deck hight ( i havnt even got the stroker kit yet)
what do you think of the stroker kit that ive found on ebay? do you think my crane H288 cam that was in the 302 will work in a 347 or 330? Its been a while since ive played around with this car and would like to have a nice street mannered carbied 300+ rwhp machine. Im open to all sugestions

will i be able to get 300+rwhp with a set of afr 165 heads on a 347 with a carby.
What cam and carby can i run............I want to stick with an old school hydrolic cam. I want it to have some street manners but loads of torque down low. my cam in the 302 is good from 2500 to 6000 rpm ( i think it has 288 duration and 488 lift)

Go the 185 AFR heads on 347 the pistons will have enough valve notch in them...

will my performer manifold and y extractors work with these heads.
the manifold is port mached to my old heads that were maxed out.

Yes I know of a 5.0 with 185's , RPM, crane 2031 cam and makes 212 rwkw I assume a 347 would be in the 240 - 250 rwkw.. The block is the same....
347's generally have higher compression so it would help power wise...
