Au ones are the best apparently, Metal, not paper crap.

I've heard ford dont sell e-series gasket. If you buy an EA gasket from you, they just give you the AU gasket. Also, use new bolts too.

yes they do still sell e series gaskets i use on on a customers car the other day. yes the au ones are better and also need a different torqe setting 30nm and 120 degree not 40nm and 90degree like the e series. i found out i had torqued my head to the ef setting not the au setting when i put my xr6 head on my car so i hope it holds on. dont think it should matter.

Yeah, I've always wondered about the slight differences in the Torque settings between gaskets. On the face of it, I'm thinking that 40nm and 90 degrees would be pretty close to 30nm and 120 degrees. And with the 90 degrees - its a lot easier to do than 120 degrees. ( unless you fork out for one of those angle gauges ) Thats not to say you shouldn't do the appropriate settings for the gasket. But it makes me wonder if there's only a bees dcik in it. Has anyone else "accidentally" done the AU metal gasket at 40nm and 90 degrees in an E series and have you had any probs ??? |

Always use the torque on the gasket you buy, not what's written in a book or soemthing else.
