|
does anyone know how to fix this on an ef and infact where the airbag earth point is located? Is it a big job?

More info would be nice.
What fault code is it?? I'll assume it's the actual airbag itself earthed (code 13). Probably may be the clockspring. If you look around the lower steering column, you'll find a 2 pin plug similar to the plug the airbag plugs into, disconnect it and fit a 2 ohm resistor, if the fault disappears, then as I said above. If you leave it unplugged, you should get code 32. I find it handy to keep a couple of the 2 ohm blanking resistors for faultfinding - can get them from self serve wreckers, from EL's - top left glovebox recess hole - the passenger airbag loom has them fitted. They have the resistor and plug, so very easy to use.

yeah ive been told the clockspring may be the problem as well. all i was told is that there is an airbag earth fault.
