the color is not part of the outer lens it is a seperate lens in behind so when i seperated the outer lens i removed the colored parts.

i have a pic..
you can see in the pic i have allready removed the amber lens and the red lens is just sitting there..

i was looking at the pic and thought the same thing... would look much better black will get some paint this weekend some time and do it

i was in adelaide some years back looking through the car yards and found an XR8 in polynesian green that had it done looked really good...



Don't know if it's too late yet or not mate, but you need to leave the red there for legal reasons, tail lights need to have red reflectors on them to meet ADR standards, if they don't, you can be defected.


You could always do what holdung did with the VX commonwhore and put reflectors in the bumper I guess...

i haven't painted them yet i may just tint that section so it looks dark but is still reflective...
