there was a clip...but I just removed it because it was getting jammed and i couldn't find where it was meant to be clipped to. I think mine runs along the sway bar too...now I'm not sure lol...all I know is that it is run underneath the sump above the sway bar/steering rack. one or the other.

Another thing you can do to make things smoother is by putting WD40 or something down the clutch cable...that way it can smoothen up a little. I did that and it seems a bit smoother. It pops still but when it is in gear it doesn't pop as much.
