can anyone help - my 94 4.0L EF fairmont wont start - according to the RACQ techy it has no spark and an intermittent injector pulse - he reckons it could be the distributor - cud this be right - can i replace the distributor at home or is it a workshop job?

Theres no distributor on an EF, these are coil pack ignitions.

Try hitting the panel at your LEFT KNEE (below the cluster and beside the steering wheel) hard and then crank.

You could have a Dead Coil Pack.
Crank Sensor could be faulty.
Main Fuse could be blown) *engine bay*
etc.
