Wasnt quite sure where i should put this.

Today a wierd screeching sound started comming from my front wheel on the drivers side. I put the car up on the hoist and the wheel is alot harder to turn than that of the left hand side. And also it doesnt make the screaching sound if i turn the wheel counter clockwise. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem most likely is? I suspect it may just be the wheel bearing (I hope)

The car seems to brake normally, and the stearing wheel doesnt shudder, so i dont think its a warped disc. could it be a worn brakepad? tho i would have thought if it was it would only makle the screeching sound when im braking as apposed to all the time.

Any help much appreciated.

could be a couple of things

worn brake pads - replace pads
seized calipers - strip and clean and lubricate
wheel bearing - replace and repack and ajust
pads vibrating - remove and use anti squeal or contact adheasive between pad and piston
warped disc - machine or replace
