HEy all!
My ef XR6 diff feels like its on the way out & sumthing has to be done soon. I have a Ea sitting out the back tho & it has a 2.92 ratio saying "slip resistant diff" on the filler tag... Does that mean its a LSD? Will it fit my Ef? Also The Ea has pedders suspension & wondering weather i can swap the springs n shocks around too... Thanks! Des.

Yup it's a 2 pinion LSD. I just read the same tag today on my car! "SLIP RESISTANT DIFF. Only use approved lubricants."
Not 100% sure if it will fit the EF, prolly will, or the axles spines might be different? As far as the shocks go, prolly again, as there is a dude on here who has EF XR6 shocks and coils under his EA. So should work in reverse too.. Someone else confirm? |

the suspension is a staright swap over
diff will fit in with axles and housing etc just unsure of the suspension arms what you COULD do is take the diff from the EA out and the ef diff out and get the internals swapped from the ea into teh EF then u can retain the EF diff ratio

the only problem is that the EA diff does not support ABS

and the ef centre is a 78 series
and ef has 28 spline axles and ea has wider lower control arm supports

short answer is, its not worth trying to fit..
the centre is not compatible the housing is not compatible

Hmmm...ok thanks guys.
So...how much would it be roughly to get a diff rebuilt? or just parts? Im pretty good with hands on things but haven't touched a diff before... I have a mate who may be able to do it tho. ALso with those springs im thinking of putting it into a ef gli im getting not the xr6...
