hey just around the corner there is an old lady wanting to sell her xt falcon and its just a 3.6 but the car is really a piece of art! there is no body rust and from looking down the sides there is no prangs and in the history books its been in no crashes. anywho my question is if i wanted to put in a 289 windsor into it, would it just bolt right in without happening to change the auto and diff?? i have a 9" so i might put that in. this car was a suday car for church so it is in really good condition, oh and i have old bucket seats out of a 71 zd fairlane and i was just wondering if any1 can tell me if they would fit in? thanks

the auto will probably be different, but you should be able to get away with the stocko diff for the meantime

I'm killing to buy a XT to restore and play with also.... I almost bought this real nice one off ebay a week ago, but I don't have the money at the moment

Ok just a thing for you the XF did NOT come out of the factory with a V8 so putting a V8 in the XF you will have to tske it over the pits (you WILL NEED a MOD PLATE to DO IT) I tryed to put a 302 out of a EB and it was going to be more money then wat it's worth!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just to let you know.

You could put a 302W in it, and no, The BW 35 thats in it now, won't bolt up to the V8, and that 9" diff, needs to be a narrow one to fit in it. A 9" from XA onwards won't fit. They are too wide. If its got front drum brakes, you'll need to change them to disc brakes, the ones from XF's will work fine, just use the whole stub axle assembly, then you'll have bigger wheelbearings too. Don't know if those buckets will bolt straight in or not, just have see.

Who cares what f***ing motor is in it?
JUST BUY IT, DRIVE IT, RESTORE IT, LOVE IT AND KEEP THE F***ING RUST OUT OF IT!! ANYONE who finds an original one owner sunday car driven by an elderly person with no idea how much it is really worth, HAS TO GET IT! Sorry, i just think that the question of 'should i get it, will this motor fit' etc etc is silly. just get the car & go from there. |

Legion wrote: Who cares what f***ing motor is in it? i agree i got my dads EB (i no it not a classic yet but it will be) after he passed he had it since new never been pranged always garaged only worth $2500 now and he paid $30000 back in 1992 but there are not many cars looked after real well and when you find one that is grab it and look after it cause it will be like money in the bank in years to come
