Hey guys! I have always had a problem with the battery light coming on every now and then for the past 2 months. Up untill now it hasnt been doing it for awhile.
But tonight it was lit up the whole trip home (30mins).. with the gauge sitting on 12v the whole trip.. usually as soon as the light would go out it would jump straight to 14.4-14.8 volts.. but now it hovers in between according to the revs. Before i go out and buy a reco alternator, i wanted to make sure that the earth strap and grounding points are top notch. Exactly what is the process for checking the condition of the earth?? Also would an an earth strap from jaycar help things out: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.as ... &SUBCATID= Cheers fellas!! |

Go buy yourself a digital ammeter from d**k for $10 and check the earthing of the battery and alternator when the engine is running then check the battery when the engine is off. It shouldn't be going below 12V. How old is your battery?
