Sorry, just wanted to butt in, and ask about the rear electric window... I have a wagon, and wouldn't mind having that as a feature 8-)

Hard to do?

Cheers

You need door trims to accommodate for the rear elecs - ie EF/EL/Ghia/NF/NL/DF/DL rear trims plus the power regs and the centre power window module / switch facia. If you have an EF/EL Gli...you will need additional wiring...if youre is a futura...it's all plug and play :)

Rear elec regs are ~$110 each from wreckers - the switch control facia is about $70 too...the rest is 20 amp wiring with bloodied, bruised and sore hands from running wires through door gromets and B pillars hehe.

Ive got an EB, when you say plug and play, you mean some fords actually came with this feature?

So I get a window reg... lots of wires, the control module isn't a problem.. Ill just use some relays..

How do I unmount the window from its current position though? rear demister wires have to be extended?

I think I should start a new thread on this.. sorry again.

Cheers

New thread started - no worries :)

I am confident that EB Fairmont / Ghia wagons had rear electric windows...and AFAIK, the regulators are the same used in EF/EL models too ?? I'm sure someone with *actual* experience can help out here - I'm only going on what I used for my EL Wagon.

Don't know what you're talking about with rear demister wires - I hope we're talking about the same thing here :?:

Re-reading your post - I am under the impression you are talking about the rear screen and making it windable ? If so - good luck lol !

Cheers,
Steve

Haha - not a chance...the shape of the tailgate makes it impossible to do...trust me, I thought about it on my EL at one stage hehe...like the old school Belmont wagons etc that had windable rear tailgate windows.

Lol, one of my friends has a 4Runner toyota 4WD, and it has this feature. bastard. I thought that the shape of the tailgate would be a restriction, as would the legalities of this matter, im sure chopping into my tailgate is illegal. Anyway, you had me excited for a good second there lol
