Is there a different gearbox in the AU1 tickfords.
With my forte, manually going down the gears from D - 3 - 1 was no problem but if you went into second manually, a bad driveline whiplash would occur
With the tickford, changes are smoother and a D-3-2 is great, if I change early, the 3rd and 2nd gears really slow the car down but if I go into 1, even at 5km/h, the driveline whiplash occurs.

Now many would say, leave it in "D" but I enjoy going through the gears while slowing down for a corner.

Any thoughts

the gearbox is the same BTR95le
the difference is that the tickfords have different programing ie adaptive shift and also a 3.45 lsd helps

Currently the auto box is in economy mode.
I prefer the 3.08 ratio, less RPM at 110 km/h.

Hey aurora. Yes as franky suggested, the difference likely to be in the programming of the ECU.

An interesting little excercise may be to swap the EEC units from the XR6 to the forte and vice-versa....

Interesting to note that the forte gives the whiplash going into 2nd... the EF V8 trans is real smooth going down thru the gears with the excpetion of 1st... when you find yourself headbutting the windscreen, lol.
