Ok, as if we didn't have enough of these:
I have an EF manual, looking to put an exhaust system and some extractors in it. I have a stage 3 crow cam sitting in my room and a chiptoque chip which i won't fit until i do this. Extractors...which are good, which ones are s**t. So far, I've been quoted on pacemakers and genie. Which models (not just brands) should I be looking at? I am on a budget, so nothing too pricey. This need to be done pretty quick before I spend my cash on something else so any feedback will be appreciated. Cheers.

i'd go the pacemakers, i have them on mine and they are awsome, really notice a difference once they are on. and with the exhaust go a 2.5" manderal bent, redback are usually pretty good or go a custom setup (straight thru )

Well, not meaning to be rude, but if you read through all the extractors posts, you will see that pacemaker comp series extractors are of high class, and the JMM ones have been spoken of highly. I can't remember the exact difference, but JMM extractors are matched with your head or something? dunno, but yeah, JMM more custom than pacies.
Good luck, do dyno before and after, would be interesting to see the difference. PS - I have pacemakers, and have had no problems with them.. good quality, definately worth it. cant compare as Ive never had any others. Cheers

JMM would be out of the Q, as it wouldn't be worth posting over here - i'm sure you'd rather put the money it would cost to freight into better extractors eh rem?
the place rob goes to seems pretty good rem - the paceys i've got on mine, with my lukey system, is pretty good - can't see why you'd need any more than that

The reason why I started another post was to find out which model pacies to go for... is there a number or anything? Cause exhaust places just say pacies or genies or blah blah blah, they don't say which model/series.
Here's what I've been quoted so far (keep in mind I am in perth): 2 1/2 mandrel bent system (Lukey) Cat modification for higher flow Pacemaker Extractors (i don't know which ones) Custom Exhaust Specialist are highly recommended and said ($950) Carline Osborne park said $830 now i'm waiting for a quote from one of my clients from work but he said they don't normally do pacemaker. Again, i've asked him to chase down some pacies for a price but that won't be til monday after motorvation.

But it also depends on where you want the performance gain! Pacemaker Competitions supposebly improve down low and mid range. While the standards improve mid to high. That's just another point to consider...

Actually isn't it the other way around? Competition Pacemakers are designed to make their power at the high end of the rev range whereas the standard Pacemakers make their power increase in the low to mid range.

Glad you picked Carline and not Mettams Mufflers. I've just had some shocking s**t work done at Mettams yesterday. I would avoid them entirely.
I'm gonna go to Carline to get this s**t work fixed. |

That's what I originally thought. But Pacemaker and the exhaust shops say opposite because of the small primaries or something, I don't understyand all the technical stuff. |
