Hi guys tried searching for awhile on this but just could not find anything...
how would i go about doing this? i know its probably a major newbie question but i would really like to give this a go. thanks alot |

i'm guessing its a 4spd
the best way i have found to do this is, disconnect the trany lines (there is a joiner at the radiator) push some hose onto the lines, put the other end of the hose into a large container (20L drum), place the auto into park and start the engine (do not rev it let it idel) run it untill the majority of the fliud has come out, then turn off the engine, reconnect the trany lines, then remove the auto's sump pan, (you will need to but a auto trans service kit before you start this service and also enough trans fluid) and drain the excess fluid, remove the filter (making sure that you have removed the filter seal up inside the valve body) replace with the new filter, attach the sump pan using new gasket, and fill it up with fliud start it up in park and keep checking fluid level untill it has the correct amount.. hope this is not to comfusing, if it is jusk ask away..

supercheap should sell them, and the fluid also they should have a book there to tell you how much fluid you will need, you will need to get enough for a dry fill...

A dry refill i think is about 8 Litres.. but best to ask them where you buy the fluid as they should have a good idea..

best and only way to effectively get clean fluid in the tranny is by flushing it. We use on average 20-25L when we flush them with our flushing machine at work, and it always takes 15L or so before the oil starts looking clean...

A little off subject but can some one tell me what sort of pressure would be found at the cooler when engine is idling.
Have been looking at building an external filter to clean the fluid in auto trans. Along the lines of an external oil filter that was common a few years ago and used a toilet roll as filter element. Any ideas on pressure most welcome. Chris |

got mine serviced and took 10 liters of fluid and its a 4 speed

Yes 10 litres for dry refill. Just looked in service manual
