I think I will be putting up a few "how the hell do you get the rear bumper of an EL" type questions soon. Thanks for that!! yep bumper has to come off. remove the splash guards in rear wheel arches and ya should see a bolt holding the end of the bumper up on each side, remove these bolts. mine had a plate holding the rear skirt to the spare wheel well this had to come off to. now remove the carpeted plastic sides in the boot and you should see a rubber gromit in the chassis rail on both sides, remove gromit and remove the bolts that are in there(2 each side and dont drop them cos they are realy hard to get back) now you can slide the bumper out from the car a bit and get ya hand in and disconect the number plate light then slide the bumper the rest of the way off and ya done. well that pic didnt turn out real good. arrow closest to taillight is where the horse shoe clips are and the other one is the bolt holding the end of the bumper up-1 each side That all sounds pretty simple except for maybe getting the splash guards off. I will probably just take it to the crash repairer and get them to do it anyway though. I am going to take it there to get a quote tomorrow the only problem is that the driveway is pretty steep hopefully I don't end up ripping the front bumper off as well!

Splash guards are held in with plastic skrivets. they unscrew and when you put them back they just push in, Easy as piss to take off.

the grommets in the boot are they the ones on either side basically of the fuel tank? When I lifted the boot floor carpet this arvo I could see these ones. Are they the ones or are they behind the side walls of the boot?

the grommets are in the chasis rails on either side of the boot, not in the boot floor. cant remember if they under the boot floor carpet or behind the side covers but if you lift up the boot floor carpet on each side of the boot you should see a square tube with two black grommets next to each other (same on both sides) pull these out and there will be a bolt behind each grommit and dont drop the bolt in there cos its a mongrel to get back out. hope that helps a bit
