hi, i have a 1998 el wagon, and when i got it , it didnt have a remote central locking key fob.

i dont know much about the smartlock setup on these , but to get the remote part working , is all i have to do is get a key fob ? to get it to work ?

does it need any other bits ?
thanks,

Just need to buy the remote, there are heaps on Ebay and then program it to your car. I can't remember the procedure at the moment but may be someone on here can.

yep just get a remoete, the procedure is on here hundreds of times.

if you buy a genuine one from ford get them to program it for you. also get a sedan one, it has an extra useless button for you but they are alot cheaper

turn teh car to the on position, push the demister 3 times in 5 seconds, door lock should cycle, then push the remote button
If it cycles you have done it correctly
