I carpeted my kickpannels but then i cut out a 6.5" section to allow my Focal Utopia midbasses in. Then i build a grill to cover over them. Here is the pics of the carpeted midbass, then with the speakier in it (uncovered). I sealed the kickpannel with fibreglass and sound deadening and the midbasses now run in small sealed enclosures.

With the exception of the hard plastic instrument surround around the radio, airvents, cluster etc which was done with gloss black spraypaint, most of the black was done with vinyl spray (about $15/can)
That includes the door handles, gear boot, steering wheel pad and centre console lid 8-)

All AUII/III have them. The only ones that don't are the ones with sunroofs.
