I change my mind so often, and have so many questions that need answering.
I suppose it's best I put them all in this thread, otherwise I'd fill up the forum with quick closing threads. I'm currently trying to save as much as possible so that within a few months i'll have enough for a new motor, or to send mine in to freshen it up. The thing is, I'm not sure which route to take. AU Series 2 XR8 conversion - roughly $2500/$3000 drive out AU Series 3 XR8 conversion - $4000 drive out "Freshen up" my current 5ltr - $3000ish Save for upto a year and rebuild mine as a 347. Not sure what the best way to go is, I can also get a Boss motor stroked to a 6ltr (well, 5.97 or something) for around what I'd pay for a complete AU series 3 conversion - but i'm guessing it would cost an arm and a leg to fit the f**k in. Also thinking of converting it to manual. Manual can either come first or last, i'm not sure. Questions about going manual; Will my EL be too stiff to be comfortable as a manual, is it going to clunk and bounce and just be a fair stiff pig to drive? I mean, at the moment you can cruise asif it's a taxi, i can go from mooroolbark to geelong in 1 squirt, 1 hand on the wheel, listening to music and having a girl sleeping beside me. I'm wondering if converting it to manual will just kill the whole cruise factor and turn it into a 'hate to drive to work' car. I'm guessing it'll cost me around 3k for the manual conversion, the parts alone will be 2200. I'm so lost lol I'm desperately trying to save money, but it would help if i had a figure to get to. |
