Most wrecking yards will have one, but will ask for upto $1K for it.
XR6 are the same. (ratios can be different) Slap it straight in! Average costs for a 3.23:1 or 3.45:1 is about $650 for the LSD, and fitting will vary. I've a 3.45 and a 3.23 here, but thats no good for you.

so if i buy the XR8-XR6 diff, complete with axles etc, it will fit straight in?
much work involved? i would imagine it's a simple, unbolt the other and bolt the new one up.

. If you are auto then you may end up with incorrect shift points if you use the 3.45 ratio.[/quote] Shift points are based on RPM. I've got 3.9's in my xr8 and shift points are fine. |

i did it yesterday i piked up a diff for 500 bucks wit upper and lower control arms and shocks the upper arms wont fit but the lower ones will and my hand brake cable was to short it is a lower ratio its 3 45s but i can smoke second gear and the lower gears increases the rpm by about 200 its an easy swap

Quote: Shift points are based on RPM. I've got 3.9's in my xr8 and shift points are fine. Shift points are Speed not RPM based. If you change your diff to a different ratio and left the speedo gear untouched then nothing has changed except your speedo is now out. Correct the speedo by changing the gear and now the shift points will be wrong. The only correct way of fixing this is to install the ECU that belongs with that diff ratio. AFAIK there is no correct fix for ratios above 3.45 in an EF.
