HEy all,

Just wondering how other people wash their cars & maintain it so it keeps looking great. My red seems to get duller everyday. I been told to polish her every wk for a month, but isnt that bad for the paint work?

I just had my bonnet & half left hand of the car respared. It like to keep the whole car show room condition but i dont have alot of time for just appearances.

Any ideas?

Not a good idea to polish so often. I get by with once every year or two but your red paint is the problem. It has a big problem with oxidation from the sun.

You need to apply some paint sealant to it and wash it with the two bucket method and don't use dishwashing liquid or crappy car shampoo's

One word mate; Autoglym

Use the Autoglym shampoo body wash. Shammy her. Then polish it with autoglym super resin (as your car is red).

You'll find once you do that, wash your car with the autoglym shampoo once a week and the mother f**k will beed and shine like a b**ch!

No way man, that autoglym shampoo IMO is too harsh and doesn't have the lubricants needed to reduce/prevent washing swirls

Super resin polish is not bad though
Also don't use a chamois, they are more trouble than they are worth
Better to use a microfibre chamois or waffle weave drying towel

Reason is that most chamois are made from poly vinyl alcohol and they have a surface friction far higher than is safe for the paint, leave streaks and can strip your wax or paint sealant in weeks.

just take it to the brisbane car wash mate no more worries.
