alrite,
i just purchased a EMS 8860 ecu, wiring it up doesnt look to difficult, i just have afew other questions on the sensors etc, and what will need to be kept wired to the old ecu? smartlock etc?
and i am still trying to work out a place to actually install the barstad, passenger footwell?, on top of the old ecu?, on the side of the centre console, glove box? still tryin to work it out, but i just need to know is there anything i need to change? map sensor? oxygen sensor? to wideband, will dizzy still be ok? any help will be much appreciated cheers...

Speak to turbotrana, he did mine. He even got a EEC plug adaptor so no cutting was even required.

It fits in the stock ECU location, it has its own MAP sensor, so you can remove the factory one.
It controls all the factory sensors so you dont need the factory ECU anymore.

happy to answer any ems questions as well!

it will either hook up paralel to your factory ecu or on its own

it uses the std water and ir temp and the ford sensors are already mapped so its a simple look up and set

the map is a hose

the tps is easy enough

thats all you need minimum

all the rest optional

I have mine wired in parralell, so i kept smartlock, all the dash, and climate etc.

All the dash, smartlock and climate control (conversion) all still works in mine without the factory ECU. Obviously EF-EL are different to EB-ED.
