the motor in my xr6 runs acl race series pistons that are higher compression than standard, to turbo this can i get away with making up a decomp plate or should i propaly decomp the motor. thanks

You can get away with it but you should properly decomp it.

should do properly, but you can do it with a spacer as i have proven, im in the mid 300 rwkw range no problems

did you use twin headgaskets? (ie one on heach side?) im interested in the details as i am in the process of turboing my 250 and i have a 10:1 comp engine in it atm

lol, i was at 10.4:1, i took a couple of cc's from the chambers, and used a shim with a gasket either side

what comp was it afte that? was that just a standard ACL shim? i figured this would work well but was also concerned about push rod length.

i used a permaseal one, first i had one custom cut by acl gasket company, but it didnt have the section that goes around the front of the head on the 4l, so i was gonna end up with timing cover sealing issues, the permaseal off the shelf one was an exact replica of the head gasket.... btw, i used MLS au falcon gaskets.

final comp came in at roughly 8.4:1 (as per signature)

my concern for the 4l was timing chain length, i managed this issue by spacing out the tensioner

O ring the heads and use a copper .080 thick [approx] ACL gasket.. That's what I run...
If using 250 2v the rockers are adjustable...

ive got a copper acl headgasket at home, has anyone o-ringed a straight six and tried to use one??

just wondering, cos ive got an ef with high comp pistons and shaved head and all that. i dont kno the comp ratio but i kno the cylinder pressure which is 180psi average, is that normal? wat decomp plate does anyone recomend and also ebs_4l wat sort and where did u get those gaskets and plate from and how much?? i cant seem to get much help locally...

Yep "Cylinder heads dynamic" in Penrith did it for me..
Used a sealer between surfaces to prevent leaks...

iused race series on my 6 inch clevo and had massive bore wear , im talking like 15 thou in onlty a few thousand ks ,and then engine grenaded , ill never have a 6 inch clevo again or acl again or use gulgf western oil , how it all started i dont know but just to be safe
