I have premium sound in the fairmont but want to chuck a couple 12's or 15's in the a**. Just wanted to know how to run the trigger wire to the amp. I havnt pulled the factory head unit out yet.can ya even add subs to it.

You already have a sub as part of premium sound! The amp is hidden on the right side of the boot under the side wall carpet. You can use the same trigger wite it uses to wire up your own amps (and for that matter the signal wire)

i havnt had the car all that long so i havn't played with it or really checked much out on it.cheers man.now i know.

Yeah the sub as a part of premium sound is pretty useless. If you just upgraded the standard speakers you would get more bass
But, its a bit of work to remove it, need to take out rear seat then the parcel tray carpet just to get to the top screws. Probably best to leave it there (disconnect it and remove the ford amp) but as spoken, all the connections and wires you need will all already be at the amp

thanks for that man.when i have some time on my hands ill be puttin focals or something in the front and bostons in the back shelf.maybe.not sure yet.whatever sounds best.

and if you still want to run a trigger wire you can sure the acc wire from the cigeret lighter

Yeah thats it.
I have eclipse 5 x 7" (stock size) all round. Must say they sound incredible. (not probably as good as forcals) but they do fit easily in to the standard locations

what size are the fronts, 5x7?. do any other 6x9's fit in the rear without making the hles a lil bigger because of the different size baskets on them

I think for the rear you need spacers.
The front are 5 x 7" as well. same speakers all round
