The starter motor is under the intake manifold at the rear of the block.
you will have to reach up from behind the left front wheel to get to it.

pretty simple to change but can be a pain in the a*** to get the bolts in the right place

Have a look on passenger side of car, under intake manifold.

If you could not find starter then I would strongly suggest that you find someone to help or else get an auto elec to change it.

Run the front of the car up on ramps or put it on stands. Not bloody bricks.

If you still want to have a go then FIRST TAKE OFF THE EARTH TERMINAL FROM THE BATTERY!!!!!!!!

Then remove wiring from starter and, as this is your first go, label the wires for later re-connection.

Undo the two starter bolts. Top one first and when undoing bottom one be aware that that chunk of starter could drop on your head. You will need an 18" (approx) extension to get to the top starter bolt.

This is not as straight forward a job as it seems and it can make good mechanics curse and swear. As I said earlier, try to have a mate around that has done this before, if only to pass tools and look for dropped bolts!

Good luck with it.

yep a 13mm 1/4" ratchet really comes in handy for on eor two of the bolts but before you do anything

DISCONNECT THE EARTH LEAD AT THE BATTERY

when you remove the bolts, start with the top one first, as the bottem bolt this will stop the starter motor from moving around while you undo the top bolt.. makes it much easer to remove..

i usually get the car on a hoist and use a extention on the end of my air ratchet to crack the bolt and it still can take up to 20 minutes to remove it f^#k doing it on the ground go to a auto elec.
