Hey guys,
picked myself up a clean ea not to long ago as a daily driver, 5spd etc. Anyways, ive noticed that when im on the brakes, it has a tendancy to creak quite loudly, mostly from the back brakes, the fronts do it a little bit quietly than the rears. Its the loudest while im almost stopped, then gives one loud creak as it stops, ive jacked it up and all the suspension etc feels solid, ive given the bushes a visual inspection and all look ok, so the only thing i can think of is brakes. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers Chris

its probably going to be your caliper slides.
they tend to get stuck after a while. remove them from the caliper and use a high temp multigrease to lube them and put them back in the calpier |

yeh either that or its like mine where when ive bought it they'v put cheap pads in it to get it road worthyd and the caliper is draging the pads a bit, which then glazes up the dodgy pads and makes them stick and squeel... rather than paying to get them fixed for now im using this 'anti squeel' stuff from super cheap with works ok for a day or 2..

yer i use castrol multigrease on them. theres probably some grease made for it... but hey it works on my car. and if the slides are slightly bent they will creek again after about 2 months or so. weird i know but just keep cleaning them and repacking them with grease. let me know how it goes |
