hi guys so im just wondering if i can run the explorer without the egr and just bold on the T/B straight to the manifold. will this work or will i have dramas. reason for asking this is i picked up a yank t/b and everything is backwards.
if i can mount the t/b to the manjifold. does anyone have any idea where i can mount the throttle bracket. i will be mounting the t/b upside down so i dnt have to mdify the t/b what does the egr do. is it essential on the e series falcons. cheers. jagga

I'm not going to run an EGR plate, I'm mounting my TB directly onto my edelbrock intake and I'll make up a custom bracket underneath to hold the cable.

Just drill hole in other side of throttle bodies linkages and fit a ball throttle connector, similar to the std riveted one on other side. In some cases there is a dent where it can be drilled...
In my case I just run throttle cable around the front. Just disconnected bracket off the two rear bolts and mounted it to front bolts with a few mods... But its easier to fit another ball connector .... EGR is not required BUT you need to check what eec is ging to do about it? As it will possibly go into limp mode ??

ah.. I'm running aftermarket ecu... so no EGR required..
How does fitting a ball connector help with where to mount the bracket for the cable? aren't all the TB's ball connectors?? |

im not runnng a egr on a nearly stock engine with stock ecu and the car hasnt gon into limp home... well not that ive noticed

Hava a look at my pics, my t/b is yanky too. I played around with a few ideas but went with fitting the yankee egr plate that came with t/b, fitted upside down, removed and plugged coolant hose connectors on egr plate and fitted idle switch differently. If you run egr plate upside down with coolant hose connected. Beware!! Water in air intake.
Later I got hold of a phenolic spacer for manifold and blocked egr completely using a 10c piece. No egr working at all. No probs. Its all still connected as such, I figure keep it lookin stock for r/worthy. T/b linkage was a head f**k but what I came up with over a few boubs works a treat. using a bit of aluminium angle, hacksaw and a bolt. |

Lack of EGR will not cause limp mode.
You will get worse fuel economy though...but...who cares? |

Well now your talking about something else....Limp mode is not detonation. But no. If the EEC does not see the EVP it knows there is no Exhaust being added therefore it does not reduce Fuel PW or add spark. |
