250hp = roughly 185kw..

which is what your xr8 should have at the moment. according to the lowdown on the V8 XH..

The XR8 Ute is powered by the just-released (in the EL Falcon XR8 sedan) higher performance, sequential multi-point fuel injected 5-litre V8 on which Tickford have breathed, raising its maximum power to 185 kW (248 bhp) at 4500 rpm (from 170 kW) and torque to 402 Nm at 3000 rpm (from 398). Weighing in at 1532kg kerb mass, the manual XR8 Ute has an 8.28 kg/kW power/weight ratio, the best of Ford Australia's vehicle lineup (EL GT is 8.34). Indicative acceleration times are low seven seconds for 0-1 O0kph and low 15 seconds for the standing 400 metres. An automatic XR8 is also available.

it all depends on the condition on the engine, gearbox and diff.

engines lose power over time, gearboxes and diff wear out.

ummm so you have an Haltech computer. cool. im guessing you could get the ute tuned to get some more power out of it.

it looks like you have done some good mods so far.

btw, the ute looks good too

keep the borg warner diff dude.

9 inch is too heavy and takes a fair bit of power out of your car. you wont break the borg warner. and besies, you can still get countless diff gears for the borg warner as they are the same as the commodores.

Very nice results mate, can you post up the dyno sheet?
Got anymore info into the combo like what r/rockers(brand, ratio etc) what edelbrock heads(c/c size, valve sizes, runner cc's etc)?
What cam are you running with all that?

Gotta love the XH XR8's mate!!!!!!!!!!

wel i'm s**t on comps so i'm having trouble gettin the dino graph up cos its too big of a file but the cam i have in there is a crane cam and i think its a stage 3.looking at the sheet its says its a hydraulic roller with 110 deg lift and 220 deg duration but on the whole i'm stoked with the 270.7 rwhp from the little 302!!!!

Those above specs sound like the crane 2040 cam. The 110 will be the lobe seperation, 220 is the duration on both exhaust and inlet, and has .498" lift on both in' and ex'.
This is the same cam i'm going to be running in mine, although im going with AFR 165 alloy heads and also going to a higher ratio roller rocker (1.7) to bring valve lift up to .529" from the .498" with the 1.6's.
Your 270.7rwhp is a very nice result i'd be stoked with that, i'll hopefully be looking at closer to 300rwhp, engine is gettin assembled at the moment, should have it back next week, have my own thread in the V8 Workshop forum titled "Heads & Cam".
