Did mine a while ago and applied never seize grease to the thread. Apart from that a straight forward job.

they are $55 on ebay i mmight buy one as im gettin poor fuel economy and i reckon the oxy sensor is to blame.
is there any way of telling if its shot without just replacing it and taking notice of the effects? i know the oxy sensor is a common cause for poor fuel economy is that cos it makes the car run too rich and make a bit of black smoke? cos im blowing a bit of black smoke under hard acceleration which i think might be cos of oxy sensor and im getting around 250kms from a pretty full tank |

also if the coolant temp sensor is rooted this will happen
installin oxy sensor 1. unplug and remove old 2. aplly neversieze or similar to oxy sensor thread 3.install and reconect plug 4. addvise coolant temp senor as well cause if that s**t itself as well it will kill the oxy senor in no time

Yeah I replaced the O2 Sensor yesterday. It was just a matter of just unplugging the connector and unscrewing the old O2 Sensor itself with a 22mm spanner. But I didn't put any anti-seize on the new one as I read somewhere that because the O2 sensors are very sensitive to chemicals and various compounsds etc one should only use"Oxygen Sensor safe" Anti-Seize should only be used. So I couldn't find any that stated that so I just put it in without it Anti-seize for fear of f**k up a new sensor. Ah well it will be another 85000Km when I will have to replace it again anyway
